Synchronization with MS Project Files

1. It is always a good idea to back up your MS Project file before synchronizing with TD Project. It is helpful to save a backup copy of the MS Project file so you can refer to it as you are making changes that may affect other tasks or resources. It is also useful for comparing later effects of changes to your project data.

2. For best results, use the default MS Project calendar. If custom calendars are used, TD Project and MS Project may not conform exactly after synchronization.

3. When importing or synchronizing items from MS Project files into a TeamDirection project, it is recommended you do not import more than 300 items at a time as the process will slow down considerably as the number of linked tasks increase. This can be done by selecting only a specific summary task for import after breaking up the original document into summary tasks each containing approximately 300 items or less.
