TeamDirection Project for Groove News and Reviews

TeamDirection 01-Apr-06. Customers who purchased TeamDirection tools from Groove Networks are no longer able to purchase support and maintenance directly from the Groove web store.
If you are purchasing Professional Edition for Projects from Groove, ask your Groove representative for instructions on purchasing support. For new customers purchasing from TeamDirection, note that the license price includes one year of support on the Groove 3.x platform.

TeamDirection 13-Jan-06. A new version of the software was made available, featuring custom attributes at the Project and Task level, as well as the ability to include these when importing from Excel.

TeamDirection 24-Oct-05. A new version of the software was made available, featuring the ability to import from Excel as well as faster performance.


TeamDirection 11-July-05. We shipped a new release of TeamDirection Project and Dashboard with the following new features in Dashboard:
  1. The ability to organize projects into folders. Create groupings of projects by:
    a. dragging-and-dropping projects to folders
    b. specifying characteristics such as those projects behind schedule
  2. Conveniently report % complete on tasks from multiple projects directly from the Dashboard
  3. User Interface Customization - each user now has the ability to show/hide columns and re-order columns. These preferences are saved automatically, as in TeamDirection Project.
  4. Export your data to Excel, based on selected projects or tasks. You may write into a specific worksheet within a workbook, thereby having multiple projects written to the same workbook, each with its own worksheet.
  5. Easily generate a Status Report for one or more projects

TeamDirection 28-Mar-05. Shipped new release of TeamDirection Project and Dashboard, providing compatibility with Groove Virtual Office 3.1 , as well as the following new features:
  1. In-place editing of information in the task grid
  2. Expand/collapse either the Task Grid or Gantt Chart to obtain your preferred view
  3. The trial period is now set to 60 days by default
TeamDirection 12-July-04. We shipped release 3.0 of TeamDirection Project and Dashboard, providing compatibility with Groove Virtual Office 3.0, as well as the following new features:
  1. New install program.
  2. Backward links are now indicated in the Project Gantt Chart. Screenshot link
  3. The 120 DPI screen setting is now supported.
  4. A project category may now be added in the Details. Screenshot link
  5. Project category is listed in the Dashboard and users may sort on it. Screenshot link
  6. Users may now display milestones only in the Dashboard. Screenshot link
  7. Blocked tasks are now indicated in the Dashboard. Screenshot link
  8. Dashboard now remembers the last state of filters and checkboxes and these are restored when the user re-enters the application again after shutting down. Screenshot link
TeamDirection 16-Dec-03 We shipped the International edition of Release 2.5.5, which allows the user interface to be displayed in French or German.

This release also supports the preservation of Groove links pasted in the Notes tab when projects are exported as XML and re-imported as new projects later.

TeamDirection 16-Dec-03 We shipped version 2.5 of Project and Dashboard with the new features listed below. See the User Guide for more details.
  1. Scalable Gantt Chart: The Gantt now supports day/week, week/month and month/year scaling, as well as providing feedback to the user dynamically when tasks are moved.
  2. Link existing Groove elements such as those in the Files tool directly to a task using the Notes tab in the Details pane.
  3. Notes text may contain URLs.
  4. More Microsoft Project synchronization options: It is now possible to write Percent Complete only back to the MS Project from a TeamDirection Project.
  5. It is now possible to move Summary tasks.
  6. Importing an XML file creates a new project.
  7. It is now possible to print a single page.
  8. Dashboard allows separate selection of Milestones in the People tab.
TeamDirection 22-Jul-03 Groove Networks bundles TeamDirection Project and Dashboard in their Project Edition.

  1. Task Grid UI customization: Control the appearance of the task grid by using show/hide columns and placing columns in your preferred order. Settings are automatically saved.
  2. Multiple resources: Assign more than one resource to a task or milestone.
  3. Create linked tasks or milestones: from the New button in the details pane.
  4. Microsoft Project Integration: has been optimized and now synchronizes the Notes field.
  5. To Do filter: in Dashboard.
