Collaborating on your projects might have started out as a good idea, but unless you have the tools to manage them during their lifecycles it can become overwhelming. TeamDirection IntelliGantt let's you take back control of Tasks Lists that may have gotten out of hand by linking them to real project scheduling tools-- IntelliGantt Plus and Microsoft Project.
With IntelliGantt Plus, choose the 'Create Shared Project' option to start the connection process:
With Microsoft Project and the IntelliGantt Add In, choose the 'Connect to Task List' option from the 'IntelliGantt' menu to start the publishing process:
From this point on, the IntelliGantt SharePoint integration is the same for both products.
The first thing to do is select the collaboration platform we with to connect to. We will select 'SharePoint' for this project.
Next we need to provide the URL of the SharePoint site. It can be a Document Workspace, or any other template SharePoint supports. IntelliGantt will search the workspace for all task lists.
IntelliGantt gives you the task lists found in this workspace and lets you choose which one to connect to.
What does the SharePoint task list look like in a project managmenet tool? Here it is in IntelliGantt Plus.
And here is the task list in Microsoft Project.
You don't see any task dependency links because SharePoint Task Lists don't support them-- that's what IntelliGantt Plus and MS Project are for!
This project can now be updated by the team members using only a SharePoint web browser. IntelliGantt also adds a link to the Quick Launch navigation on the left hand side so you can find these tasks more easily.
