Sharepoint.SoapServer Error

Postby emajka21 » Wed Feb 10, 2010 3:07 pm

Last night we received an Intelligantt update and after that it won't let us update our project file to Sharepoint. We get the below error:
... wake up http://site/sitename
Sharepoint Credentials Verified And Authenticated
Exception of type 'Microsoft.SharePoint.SoapServer.SoapServerException' was thrown.
Exception of type 'Microsoft.SharePoint.SoapServer.SoapServerException' was thrown.
Getting schema information...
Exception of type 'Microsoft.SharePoint.SoapServer.SoapServerException' was thrown.
IntelliGantt was unable to update this project. Please contact support@teamdirection.com if this problem persists.

We have unshared and reshared the file. That works and updates work after that but as soon as we check in/checkout the project file again we get this error. Any idea why this is happening?

Hi There,

Can you elaborate a bit more on the check out/check in action? Does this mean you are storing the MS Project mpp file within a SharePoint Shared Documents list?

Is this a valid reflection of the steps you are taking:

1) Navigate to the MPP file within SharePoint
2) Checkout the file (which launches MS Project automatically)
3) MPP file opens correctly within MS Project
4) Click IntelliGantt->Update

Is this correct?

Thanks,

In trying to fix this I ended up creating a new list in Sharepoint. Then I unshared the Project File in Intelligantt and then reshared it to the new list. This worked. Granted I had to recreate all of their views which was inconvenient but at least it is working now.
