Who is this product for?

The IntelliGantt Web Part is for SharePoint team members who want an easier way to view, find and update tasks assigned to them and important tasks for the project as a whole in the minimum clicks possible.

What makes it so great?

We've incorporated the latest technology to solve the most pressing needs as identified by more than 40,000 of our customers. The IntelliGantt web part is built on Silverlight 4.0 which gives it a rich interactive environment for both Windows and the Mac. By using this Silverlight release IntelliGantt can deliver high-fidelity printing and rich cross-platform support, as well as rich interaction with your server.

This is not to say 'Look how complex this is'. Rather, we made the interface as simple as possible so that users would not be intimidated.

Does everybody need a copy?

Yes, everyone will get a copy by viewing a web page with the IntelliGantt Web Part installed on it. Does anyone have to worry about installing anyting-- not one bit.

Does this work with SharePoint 2007?

Yes, the IntelliGantt web part works with WSS 3.0, MOSS 2007 Standard and MOSS 2007 Enterprise.

Does this work with SharePoint 2010?

Yes, the IntelliGantt web part works with SharePoint Foundation, SharePoint Standard and SharePoint Enterprise.

How does it integrate with MS Project?

With Microsoft Project 2007 you will need our IntelliGantt Add In to synchronize tasks with SharePoint. Microsoft Project 2010 Professional now supports a basic task synchronization as well with a SharePoint task list.

Because the IntelliGantt Web Part uses data from your task lists, any tool that work with a SharePoint task list in effect integrates with our IntelliGantt Web Part.

How would a Project Manager use this?

A project manager would use the IntelliGantt web part as a tool to make the schedule more accessible to the team and to management. We think the project manager should continue to use the powerful scheduling tools currently available. We help extend the functionality of these tools with SharePoint task synchronization.

Once in SharePoint, the nature of the schedule change from planning to viewing and completing. Project Managers can publish the schedule knowing the dates can't change, team members can see what is assigned to them and management can see simple rollup information for all the projects and tasks.

How would a Team Member use this?

A team member can be given a single URL to see ALL their tasks within SharePoint. Additionally, the IntelliGantt Web Part has powerful tools to help surface the tasks most important for each team member. It provides simple UI contstructs to aid their viewing and interaction and prevents them from accidentally changing due dates, assignments or dependencies.

Does this rollup all my tasks?

As much as you want. By using the 'Include Subsites' feature, you can place the IntelliGantt Web Part at the top-most site of your SharePoint server and let IntelliIGantt discover and rollup all the tasks in all the subsites.

Will this slow down my SharePoint server?

Just the opposite. The IntelliGantt Web Part actually offloads much of the work from the server to your desktop. 'Standard' SharePoint web parts must acquire all the data, generate the visual requirements and then build the resulting html for each request. IntelliGantt, on the other hand, will only ask for the necessary data and perform the visual rendering using the clients CPU.

As a result, less CPU load on the server will increase the number of concurrent users it can support and less HTML traffic across the network improves bandwidth. We recognize how important IT is to any organizations and we want to make their lives easier!
