Building blocks for projects

  • Click on the 'expander' at the very upper left of the application
  • Move the mouse into the opened pane in order to see available tools per task row
  • Click on the 'Write' tool
  • Save task information to a file
  • Drag and drop file to create new tasks

Creating a Using a Building Block


First open the tool window by clicking on the blue circle at the very upper left of the IntelliGantt Web Part.

Move the mouse into the newly opened pane to the row you would like to save. You can save either single tasks or summary tasks. Click on the 'Write' icon (the pencil) to bring up the 'Save As' dialog.

Clicking on the pencil icon will create a new igantt file containing task information

The 'Save As' dialog appears. Silverlight 5 will let us seed the filename for you, but for now please type in your filename. This file contain the task information will be saved to your local machine.

Save the task information to an igantt file

The new igantt file has been saved on your local machine with other igantt building blocks.

You can keep all your template building blocks in the same location

This file located on your local machine can be dragged and dropped onto the IntelliGantt Web Part, which will create a copy of the task information youu saved.

Here the OriginalSummaryBlock.igantt file has been dropped on the 'IntelliGantt Web Part for Basecamp' project. This created a summary task and two children, just like the original task information that was saved. Note also that the task dependency was created as will. Assignments will also be copied if an email match for the user is found.
